Prenatal Yoga
Practicing yoga during pregnancy helps women embrace this life-changing event and adjust to their rapidly changing bodies. It brings specific attention to the most neglected - yet most important muscle groups in a pregnant woman’s body: the abdominals and the pelvic floor. Yoga postures strengthen the spine to counterbalance the growing abdomen, open the chest in response to the shoulders rolling forward with the weight gain of the breasts, and increase strength, stamina and flexibility to prepare the body for labor and delivery. Women who practice yoga during pregnancy:
  • Get relief from the common discomforts of pregnancy
  • Prepare their bodies more effectively for labor, delivery and a speedy recovery
  • Learn to cultivate conscious relaxation and pain management techniques
  • Are empowered to approach labor and delivery with confidence
  • Learn to trust their instincts and the wisdom of the body
"Jessica saw me through my first pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Under her instruction I was able to move through my pregnancy with confidence and very little discomfort. My prenatal yoga practice with Jessica was the only instruction I used to achieve the drug-free natural childbirth I had envisioned. Her manner is calm and reassuring and her enthusiasm for her work is unparalleled."
